The making of fine craft wine begins by stepping out of the cellar and into the vineyard; for it is here, and only here, that all great wines are made. We begin ours by selecting California North Coast and Sierra Foothill family-owned growers whose vineyards are meticulously tended to encourage the most terroir influenced character possible.
As we do with our estate vineyards, we work with like-minded growers committed to sustainable and natural faming; working with nature to bring vitality to the soil and goodness to our wine. Such techniques put more natural nourishment into the earth than they take out by emphasizing the use of complementary and organic compounds for the soil, along with the application of natural remedies, rather than chemical, to nurture ecological health in the vineyard.
DENATALE VINEYARD - SONOMA
South of Healdsburg, on a west-facing slope overlooking the Russian River Valley, DeNatale Vineyard is often bathed in cool, coastal morning fog only to later bask in the warmth of the afternoon Sonoma sun. Our DeNatale Pinot Noir offers complex aromas of strawberry, blueberry, cherry pie, and soft rose petals, along with succulent flavors of ripe cherries, persimmon, earth, spices, and perhaps just a hint of orange zest. Extremely fine tannins leave a lingering, silky finish.
GOLD BLOSSOM VINEYARD - PLACER
Nestled in the oak studded foothills of western Placer County, the small Gold Blossom estate is home to an extraordinarily succulent Syrah. The higher North Block yields mouthwatering fruit with an inviting nose of strawberry, raspberry, violets and vanilla that meld together with full-bodied red fruit flavors and a classic spicy finish. Pairs nicely with barbecued meats, Moroccan food, Fiscalini cloth-bound or British farmhouse cheddars, as well as aged Manchego.

GREYSTONE VINEYARD - AMADOR
California’s record-breaking drought reduced the yield of Greystone, but only intensified the varietal characteristics and quality of this luscious wine. Greystone Vineyard sits high on the west slopes of Burke Ranch overlooking the township of Plymouth and the Sacramento valley beyond. Surrounded by heritage oaks and native buckeye, the vineyard’s low yield produces a silk-stocking fruit with color of equal richness. The 2012, 2013, and 2014 vintages produced a rich, ruby red, medium-bodied, luxurious wine with aromas of savory grilled meat, dark cherry and plum, baker’s spice, and just a hint of vanilla.

SOMERSET VINEYARD - EL DORADO
Rooted in the alluvial soils at the southern base of Mt. Aukum, Somerset produces fruit known for it’s opulent color, compelling tannins, and complex fruit flavors. These characteristics are produced by vines grown in the distinct micro-climate of the vineyard's valley floor location. Somerset Petite Sirah is our most robust, full-bodied wine, whose luscious and enticing qualities continue to gracefully unfold with time. Anticipate an inviting nose of plumb, blackberry, black cherry, and a touch of cedar enhancing a voluptuous body and long finish.
